What influences the price of my vehicle?

The designation of the price for your vehicle is a process consisting of several phases which have a significant influence on the purchase price. The resultant price is derived from an evaluation of many important criteria and is individual for each vehicle. Some factors impacting the purchase price can be influenced, but others unfortunately cannot be. Here are a couple of examples:

The purchase price of your vehicle can be increased by:

  • a diesel engine
  • Conversion to LPG
  • Metallic paintwork
  • Automatic gearbox
  • Air conditioning
  • Leather upholstery
  • Xenon lights
  • Alloy wheels
  • Towing device

The purchase price of your vehicle can be decreased by:

  • Age
  • Unattractive colour
  • Number of kilometres driven
  • Heavy fuel consumption
  • Worn or otherwise damaged interior
  • Several previous vehicle owners
  • Mechanical faults
  • No air conditioning
  • Not supplying the servicing book
  • Any damage to bodywork

What should I be careful of when buying a used car?

  1. Checking documents and basic vehicle identifiers
  2. Checking vehicle origin
  3. How not to become a fraud victim?
    1. A vehicle can be subject to leasing or right of lien. To avoid becoming a victim of fraud, you must find out whether the vehicle is not owned by a third party. You can find some information from the log book, but some is only accessible to an expert. Check the log book – in the part only the vehicle holder was registered in the log book, not its owner. This fact can still cause problems today because you might buy a vehicle from the holder given in the log book, but the owner may be a completely different person or a leasing company.
  4. Stolen vehicle
  5. Check on technical state
  6. Inspection in inspection pit
  7. Test drive
  8. How and where to buy
    1. Choosing and buying a car can take up a lot of your time. If you have internet access, use it. Professional sellers also offer cars over the internet. You can choose from thousand of cars without having to get up from your seat. Avoid amateurs, private importers and conmen who prey on the uninformed clients. On the internet you will find most vehicles with their photographs and detailed descriptions. You can clearly and quickly compare the price differences between they individual models and types of vehicles, number of kilometres on the clock, age etc.
    2. Only ever buy a used car from a seller with high-quality facilities, like we have at  AUTO-VYHYBKA. Utilise the possibility of a thorough test drive, have the vehicle put on the inspection pit and look at it from the bottom. If you can, take a car mechanic with you.
  9. Unreservedly demand
    1. A thorough check of the log book and log book certificate:
    2. It is absolutely essential for the VIN, engine number, engine type and car colour to agree with the data in the log book!
    3. Find out where it was sold new - in the Czech Republic or abroad. If it was imported, have it checked by a firm offering this service (for example Cebia, spol. s r. o.) and then guaranteeing the origin of the vehicle. At the used car dealership AUTO-VYHYBKA we will do this for you.

10. Ask for all keys, the servicing book and instructions.
